When I started designing, I had no idea how patterns are created. Sure, I have knitted from them, I knew the basic structure, also I was aware that each designer has his (her) own style. I followed the path I always take - I checked if there is a book about it. Sure thing, I quickly found one (see it below). I read it and several first patterns were born (shawls).

Savos aprakstos es cenšos nepabeigtās rindas veidot no īsākās uz garāko, tādā veidā vienā rindā nav jāslēpj vairāk par vienu pagriezienu. Arī šajā foto instrukcijā nepabeigtās rindas veidosies no īsākās uz garāko.

Color intarsia worked flat is not uncommon. I believe, that many knitters worked it once or twice in his/her’s knitting life. Intarsia is a technique when colorwork is done in blocks as in opposite to repetitive colorwork patterns. One of the main characteristics of intarsia is that there are no long floats of the yarn and when the color is changed, yarn threads are twisted together to connect the color blocks and avoid holes.

In two of my patterns - Quiet Barents Sea Stole and Quiet Barents Sea cowl - I advise swatching for two-colored cabling before starting the project itself. The aim of this particular swatch is not to determine knitting gauge (as it would usually be) but to give you feel and practice about what happens when you make cable in two colors.

Pieaudzējumi no iepriekšējās rindas (angļu valodā: lifted increases) ir vieni no neredzamākajiem adījumā, tie īpaši neizceļas un neveido arī izmaiņas reljefā. Šiem pacēlumiem ir virziens - pieaudzējums pa labi (RLI: right lifted increase) un pieaudzējums pa kreisi pieaudzējums (LLI: left lifted increase).

Iepriekšējo reizi pabeidzām ar 16.Rindu, kas ir pirmā kreisās puses rinda, viļņu rakstam mainot virzienu. 17.Rinda ir pirmā labās puses rinda, tāpēc apskatīsim, kas tajā notiek.
Visas labās puses rindas no 17. līdz 28.rindai tiek adītas līdzīgi.

Pēc pirmajām 15 raksta rindām, mūsu viļņi apaļšalles rakstā sāk griezties uz otro pusi, līdz ar to mainās arī pīņu veidošana. Neliels foto palīgs, kā tas notiek, seko zemāk. Sāksim ar Rindu 16, kas ir kreisās puses rinda.
Visas kreisās puses rindas no 16. līdz pat 28.rindai tiek adītas līdzīgi.
